Who is the "nachash" ? The shiny one.

Who is the so-called "serpent" in the Book of Genesis. If we are to understand the story of Genesis we need to figure out who this character is. The hebrew word "nachash" can be read as "serpent". The adjective form of this word however also means "The Shiny One"
Who then is this "Shiny One" who asks Eve: "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" Gen 3:1
And then tells her: "You will not surely die... For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." Gen 3:4
After Adam and Eve eat from the tree of Knowledge God says: "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." Gen 3:22
The interpretation of Genesis has caused much confusion and strife in the world. Is it possible that we have it wrong ?
Why can we not find peace in this world ? Why do we suffer so much ? Why have we not achieved "Light" in this world ? Nacash may be the key to understanding the Story of our creation.
